COLLECTION 1

MASTERS OF PHOTOGRAPHY:

Eadweard Muybridge

About Photographer:

Eadweard James Muybridge (1830-1904) was an English photographer who specialized in early motion-picture
projection and a pioneer for motion photography. He photographed mostly animals in motion, typically from a state of non-motion to motion and back to non-motion. Because he photographed mostly motion photography, a single photo would be compilation of motion stills, typically four to five in one whole photo. Muybridge is also known for murder, which some speculate was a result of a personality
shift from a stagecoach accident.

Although Muybridge is known for his popularization of motion photography, he was not limited to just motion photography. In fact, he started out as a very successful landscape photographer.

Here I have 4 collections of motion photos that are inspired by Muybridge's famous motion photos.
My last photo is a landscape photo, taken in a style similar to that of Muybridge.

I chose this photographer because my group chose this photographer and I think it was a good decision. I realized that Muybridge's photography is the foundation for many of today's stop-motion animation.
